Latest from Almadovar (2021)

The latest and the greatest from the greatest Spanish director Pedro Almadovar with, probably, the greatest Spanish actress Penelopa Cruz.

It is a wonderful slow story of heritage told through a complex relationship situation of the heroine of Penelopa Cruz. Shot in the traditional Almadovar style with amazing colors, super fashionable styling of actresses (everyone is wearing Missoni and Miu Miu), it uncovers the personal story through the 20th century history of Spain.

The supporting role is played by a very characteristic Milena Smit, a young Spanish actress who definitely expresses a typical Dutch look, due to her Dutch dad.

A strong see if you ask me, partially because of the camera work, partially because of Cruz, partially because of the story.
